Access Point Test
Quickly identify all the available access points including any rogue APs. Quickly check Security Settings, Channel Usage, Signal Strength, Signal Quality. From within this test is is easy to connect to a specific access point and perform higher layer tests such as Ping, HTTP Test and web browse to a favourite test page to prove connectivity.
Channels Test
Understanding what parts of the spectrum are overcrowded and which are free is an integral part of providing a reliable WiFi network for your customer. The Channels test provides real time scanning of the Channel usage in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectrum. Using the “Peak Hold” option ( Release Q4 2013), you can capture all channel usage and the maximum peaks as you progress around the customer building to determine the most available part of the spectrum.
Checking how the Wi-Fi spectrum varies against time
Wi-fi Spectrum usage is contantly changing and it can be hard to pin point why performance is suddenly degraded.
Using the Artisan Histogram feature you can monitor the signal strength, signal quality and noise levels against time. Whilst the real time view might be OK for on the spot analysis, the history mode allows you to save up to 24 hours worth of spectrum data and still zoom in to detail captured every 5 seconds
Noise Test
Knowing the signal strength of each Access Point is only part of the information we require in order to deliver a reliable network. It is essential to know the noise levels across the spectrum as well. Clearly it is no good having a really strong signal if the Access Point is also having to compete against a high level of background noise. Artisan’s Noise Test will show you how the noise is varying across the spectrum.
Auto Test
The configurable automatic QuickTest script allows the operator to perform testing of Wi-Fi services in a repeatable
and understandable way with clear Pass / Fail indications
Test Reports
Test Reports are automatically stored at completion of the Auto Test. These Reports are stored in PDF format for easy file management and viewing. These reports can be emailed to a central location or copied onto a USB memory stick according to the operators requirements.
